Shields Health Solutions
Dr. Andrea Idusuyi is a UConn School of Pharmacy graduate. She is currently working as a clinical pharmacist at Shields Health Solutions, where she counsels patients on rare specialty disease states and their specialty medications. She has created a Diversity In-Service Task Force to create presentations to educate on health disparities, social determinants of health, and how to better service our patients. Leading this Task Force, she has assembled the following presentations Racism and Health Disparities: How to Achieve Better Health Outcomes in the African American Population and Social Determinants of Health and Access to Healthcare; both are now mandatory training resources for Shields pharmacists on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Currently a participant of a Social Determinants of Health Workgroup, she is collaborating to identify SDOH factors impacting our patient population to develop meaningful programs to address health disparities and to mitigate SDOH barriers, optimizing access to quality care.
Dr. Idusuyi is also the CEO of Sisters in Medicine. Sisters in Medicine is a healthcare organization founded by herself and her pharmacist sisters. The objective of this organization is to deliver health and wellness education to the masses (primarily underserved populations) via social media and community outreach engagements.
