Elizabeth Monson, PharmD, BCPS, is an assistant professor of pharmacy practice for North Dakota State University (NDSU) College of Health Professions as well as a clinical pharmacist at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. Dr. Monson graduated with her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2016 from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. After completing a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND, she worked as an internal medicine pharmacist at Sanford Health where she rounded with a teaching team, worked in the nephrology clinic and sat on the Sanford Fargo Comprehensive Stroke Committee as the expert pharmacist. Where she currently practices at Essentia Health, Dr. Monson has implemented provider-pharmacist rounds in a non-teaching environment, precepts residents in internal medicine and takes students on acute care APPE rotations. At NDSU, Dr. Monson provides didactic education to PharmD students in the areas of neurology (including pain management and epilepsy), nephrology and internal medicine. She is currently acting president of North Dakota Society of Health System Pharmacists (NDSHP) and serves as one of the North Dakota delegates in the ASHP House. In 2022, Dr. Monson was recognized as the 2021-2022 pharmacist preceptor of the year at Essentia Health.
