Kay Yamamoto, PharmD, DPLA is the Coordinator, Medication Safety and Quality at the University of Illinois at Chicago / UI Health. She attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA where she subsequently completed a PGY-1 Residency at Cambridge Health Alliance. With her desire to pursue pharmacy leadership training, she moved to Chicago for a PGY-2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she has worked ever since. Her practice interests are in medication safety, inpatient operations, and academia. She is actively involved in ASHP, serving as the New Practitioners Forum Personal Development Advisory Group Chair (2022-2023), and she intends to serve on the New Practitioners Forum Executive Committee the following year (2023-2024).
